Commonly used test indicators and methods for hot melt adhesives

    Hot melt adhesives have many indicators, such as color, odor, impurities, viscosity, softening point, and thermal stability that are often heard in the daily glue application process. Smell and impurities are determined by people's subjective perception, and the others have corresponding tools and standards.

 

    The color is determined by comparison with a Gardner colorimeter. The viscosity is measured by a viscometer according to ASTM D3236-88 standards, such as Brookfield, Nirun, etc. commonly used in the industry; the softening point test passes GB/T15332-94 and is softened by the ball Point tester measurement; thermal stability is measured in an oven according to GB/T 16998-1997.
