Process and characteristics of hot melt adhesive

2022-06-29

The hot melt adhesive is heated to soften the adhesive and turn it into a liquid state. The melt is sprayed on the surface of the substrate through a hose and a spray gun, and the hot melt is cooled to complete the bonding.

Advantages of hot melt adhesive:

The use of tools covers less space, such as the size of the body of the hot melt machine, it is very convenient to place in a corner of the workshop, and it is also very convenient to use.

Lower unit production cost.

The hot melt adhesive has good bonding effect and extremely high bonding strength. For example, in carton bonding, the overall strength of the carton is strengthened after bonding, so that the carton is not easily deformed and cracked.

Very safe and environmentally friendly, using hot melt adhesives, no harmful gases, liquids, etc. are generated, and no waste disposal is required.

Hot melt adhesive has a certain anti-theft effect, can check whether the package is opened without authorization, and can play a role in security and identification in different ways.

Hot melt adhesive features:

Hot melt adhesive is a polymer product that does not require solvent, does not contain water, and is 100% solid-soluble. It is solid at room temperature. When it is heated and melted to a certain extent, it becomes a liquid adhesive that can flow and has a certain viscosity, which is light brown translucent or natural white after melting.

The main component of hot melt adhesive is an alkaline resin made of high pressure copolymerization of ethylene and vinyl acetate, and then formulated with hot melt adhesive such as tackifier, viscosity modifier and antioxidant.
