Now some plastics themselves are simple
resins, such as polyethylene and polystyrene, etc., and they are all called
single-group plastics.
1. Flame retardant
Additives that can improve the flame retardancy
of hot melt plastics are called flame retardants. Most plastics that contain
flame retardants are self-extinguishing, or burn very slowly. Commonly used
flame retardants now include antimony oxide, aluminum boron compounds, and
tetrachlorophthalic anhydride.
2. Lubricant
Lubricants are additives used to improve
the release properties of plastics during heating and molding, and improve the
surface finish of products. Commonly used lubricants are stearic acid, salt,
paraffin and synthetic waxes.
3. Reinforcing materials and fillers
In many plastics, reinforcing materials and
fillers account for a considerable proportion, especially reinforced plastics
and calcium plastic materials.
4. Colorants
Colorants are used to color hot melt
plastics. Mainly for beautification and decoration. About 80% of plastic
products are colored to produce the final product.
