Hot Melt Adhesive Application Guidelines

1. Classification according to the characteristic components:

1.1 Polyolefin hot melt adhesive (PO)

Polyolefin hot melt adhesives include polyethylene hot melt adhesives and polypropylene hot melt adhesives. Polyethylene hot melt adhesives are mainly used in cartons, carton packaging, food packaging container sealing, non-woven fabric production, carpets, car carpet backing, clothing interlining bonding, etc.

 

1.2 Ethylene and its copolymer hot melt adhesive (EVA)

Among ethylene copolymer hot melt adhesives, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer hot melt adhesives are the most widely used and most used one. Widely used in packaging, wood processing, plywood production, packaging, packaging automation operations, paper product processing, construction, electrical components, vehicle interiors, etc.

 

1.3 Polyester Hot Melt Adhesive (PES)

Polyester hot melt adhesive has excellent electrical insulation and good bonding strength, good impact resistance, water resistance, cold resistance, medium resistance and elasticity, and is suitable for metal, ceramics, glass, cloth, wood, plastic and rubber The bonding effect of other materials is better. 1.4 Polyamide hot melt adhesive (PA)

Polyamide hot melt adhesive has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, insulation performance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, etc., and has good strength and toughness. Widely used in the bonding of textile, plastic, metal and other materials. Suitable for industries such as clothing, automotive, construction and woodworking furniture.

 

1.5 Polyurethane hot melt adhesive (PUR)

Polyurethane hot melt adhesives are used to bond textiles, metal objects, glass objects and other materials, and are used in construction, automobile, electronics, packaging and other fields, and are very suitable for automatic bonding production lines such as automobiles and construction.

 

2. Use type:

2.1 Hot melt adhesive for house decoration

In house decoration, hot melt adhesives are mainly used for structural and decorative bonding, such as bonding of LVL, CCL, PVC, wallpaper and other insulation, isolation, decorative panels and non-stressed components. 2.3 Textile Hot Melt Adhesives

Melting point: 110-125°C

Melt index: 18-22G/10Min (180°C)

Adhesive strength: ≥1.5-2.0KG/25MM; washability: ≥5 times.

Such hot melt adhesives can be divided into PA, PES, LOPE, HDPE, PEA.

 

2.4 Wood & Furniture Hot Melt Adhesives

When this kind of hot melt adhesive is used, except for a small amount of high-end furniture using solid wood, most of the general furniture is made of MDF, PB, PLY, and the edge of the furniture board must be bonded with hot melt adhesive to increase the appearance of beauty. 2.5 Medical hot melt adhesive

The hot-melt adhesive used in medical treatment is mainly PSA, which is used for covering wounds, fixing detectors, bonding chemical protective clothing, and drug delivery carriers. This hot-melt adhesive must have good adhesion to various skins, and the glue can be easily removed without leaving residue, harming the skin, or causing skin allergies.
